How to apply for our Mentorship Programme

We are continually seeking professional individuals in South Africa who have an interest in promoting the growth of entrepreneurship and are willing to invest their time and knowledge into the development of high-impact responsible entrepreneurs.

Programme Overview

SELECTION CRITERIA
Allan Gray Orbis Foundation Mentors need to display the following:
  • The ability to work with emerging young leaders, to share knowledge, experience and the skills necessary to enable future high-impact, responsible entrepreneurs.
  • The ability to intuitively meet the Candidate Fellow where they are at in their personal journey and connect with their goals and aspirations.

MENTOR COMMITMENTS
The Mentoring relationship begins during a Candidate Fellow’s third year at university and extends throughout their Fellowship. The commitment period starts in February and ends in November of each year. Mentors are expected to commit to a minimum of:
  • Monthly one-on-one interactions with their Candidate Fellow, which can be face to face or telephonic.
  • An orientation and relationship building session at the beginning of the year.
  • A midway evaluation session.
  • A year-end event.
