Teaching Gifted Students

Teaching gifted children is one of the greatest rewards for educators. Helping children reach their full potential is the reason teachers do what they do. There are however, often stumbling blocks that are encountered when teaching gifted students as they are sometimes not in a position to access future educational institutions geared towards their unique talents or are in a situation where financial circumstances may inhibit them.

The Allan Gray Orbis Foundation exists to help gifted learners achieve what they are destined to by providing full bursaries for their secondary and tertiary education. The bursaries include all tuition costs, living expenses as well as a host of entrepreneurial and personal development initiatives.

The Foundation places a high emphasis on education and the role of educators in helping to develop the entrepreneurial mindset. The Foundation depends on teachers of gifted children to identify them and give them the opportunity to become either Allan Gray Scholars or Fellows.

Testing Gifted Children

Teachers of gifted students, in both high school and primary schools, are being called on by the Foundation to identify these rare gems - the ones you just know are going to go places, but require some assistance to get there.

If you have one or more gifted learners in your class, please alert them and their parents/guardian to the opportunity for full scholarships and fellowships from the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation.

The more successful Allan Gray Fellows from your school, the higher your chances of obtaining access to the Circle of Excellence initiative.
